School of Music: NEW! UMD Summer Sings

Description:
We are proud to announce two SUMMER SINGS that provide an opportunity for students and community members to sing beloved masterworks under the direction of one of our graduate student conductors. Sunday, June 26th: read through Schubert's Mass in G and Bach's Magnificat. Sunday, August 7th: read through Carl Orff's 20th century masterpiece Carmina Burana. Both events will begin with a rehearsal of the works at 6 PM in Dekelboum Concert Hall in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, with complete read-throughs of the works beginning at 7:30 PM. Participation is free and open to all. A limited number of "loaner" scores will be available, and THE MUSICAL SOURCE will also be selling copies of the scores at the event or in advance by calling 202-387-7401. {Will appear in FYI on May 26, 2011
