International Film Series - Free Screening - Jorge Preloran's 'Imaginero'
Description:
Jorge Prelorán's Imaginero
1970 / 52 minutes / Argentina
Preceded by Claudia (1972 / 4 minutes)
Please join the Graduate Field Committee in Film Studies for the first film of the fallsemester. This event is free and open to the public, and a short discussion with free snacks will take place after the film.
Our first film, 'Imaginero,' is an ethnobiography of Hermógenes Cayo, a religious image maker in the high Andean plateau of Argentina.
Both films are from the Smithsonian's Human Studies Film Archives' Jorge Preloran Collection. An audiovisual archivist for the HSFA will introduce both films.
The International Film Series is co-sponsored by School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, the College of Arts and Humanities, the Department of English, the Center for Literary and Comparative Studies, and the Institute for International Programs.
