"THE BUSINESS OF SUSTAINING SYSTEMS" Presented by: Professor Peter Sandborn, University of Maryland Department of Mechanical Engineering. Abstract: Sustainment of safety, mission, and infrastructure critical systems is enormously expensive...This talk will discuss the development of life-cycle cost models for sustaining systems and the use of these models to create business cases that support strategic approaches to managing the sustainment of systems. Bio: Dr. Peter Sandborn is a Professor in the CALCE Electronic Products and Systems Center at the University of Maryland. He is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Trans. on CPMT, the North American Editor of the Int. Journal of Performability Engineering, and on the Board of Directors of the Int. PHM Society. He has authored over 150 technical papers and several books on electronic packaging and cost analysis.
