Third Biennial Ehsan Yarshater Lecture Series with Dr. Priscilla P. Soucek: "The Bibliophile Impulse in Iranian Art and Culture."

Description:
The Roshan Center for Persian Studies (RCPS) at the University of Maryland, College Park will host the Third Biennial Ehsan Yarshater Lecture Series during the week of the 14th of November, which is free and open to the public. This year, Dr Priscilla P. Soucek of NYU will offer a series of four lectures on the topic of "The Bibliophile Impulse in Iranian Art and Culture," which will feature rarely seen images from precious manuscripts that highlight the art of the book in Iran's past. Lecture Four: Painters as Interpreters: Expanding the Boundaries of a Tradition. Reception to follow this final lecture. {Will appear in FYI on Nov 19, 2011
