Fall Lecture Series : Michael Pyatok, Architect--Thursday, October 13, 6:15pm

Please join us for a lecture by Michael Pyatok, FAIA, architect and professor, as he speaks on "Design with Equity, Affordable and Sustainable Communities." Mr. Pyatok's work focuses on the participatory design process deeply involving residents, community members, and stakeholders when working on the revitalization of low-income communities. This process uses hands-on modeling exercises to help communities identify their core needs while planning ways to meet those needs through quality design. Since starting his practice in 1984, Mr. Pyatok has designed more than 35,000 units of affordable housing in California, Washington, and Arizona, and has done master planning in communities in Hawaii, the Philippines, and Malaysia. {Will appear in FYI on Oct 12, 2011
