Artist Talk with Tobi Kahn & Performance Art by Odd Act Theatre Group
University of Maryland's The Art Gallery presents a talk with the artist, Tobi Kahn, in conjunction with his exhibition "ALIGNED: Paintings by Tobi Kahn." Kahn is a painter and sculptor whose work has been shown in over 40 solo exhibitions and over 60 museum and groups shows since he was selected as one of nine artists to be included in the 1985 Guggenheim Museum exhibition, New Horizons in American Art. Works by Kahn are in major museum, corporate, and private collections. Kahn has an extensive history of lecturing at universities and international public forums on the importance of visual language and art as healing, and this is an amazing opportunity for young artists and art enthusiasts to dialogue with an artist of Kahn's caliber.
Following the talk, Odd Act Theatre Group will present a work of performance art in The Art Gallery space, responding to Kahn's work. Members of the group will be available to talk about their process and their work with those interested.
