Join us on Monday in welcoming Prof. Aron Shai, Rector of Tel Aviv University. A specialist in modern Chinese history and its foreign relations, he is the founder and the first Chairman of the University's Department of East Asian Studies. Professor Shai has authored several major works on China's modern history in English and Hebrew. His lecture at UMD will focus largely on the economic elements tying together the Chinese, Israeli, & U.S. economies.
