Beyond the Classroom presents "Local Money, Local Change: The Role of Local Currency Initiatives" with Jeff Dicken

What role can local currency initiatives make in supporting local economic development? Baltimore Green Currency Association, a program of Fusion Partnerships, Inc., was founded in Spring 2010 to foster economic opportunity through the establishment of an alternative currency for the communities of Baltimore. They are working to help create an alternative economy that will strengthen local business, create jobs, encourage the formation of local supply chains, and ultimately provide economic opportunity and increased resilience to communities underserved by traditional economic structures. Over 100 Baltimore businesses now actively participate in the Baltimore Note (Bnote) currency network! This represents a new economic way forward for Baltimore. One that supports community, friends and neighbors Jeff Dicken, Director of the Baltimore Green Currency Association. {Will appear in FYI on Oct 20, 2011
