State of Black Leadership
Description:
Complacency in the Black Community
This year our topic is entitled State of Black Leadership: Complacency in the Black Community. For the past several decades, a large portion of our black community has been expecting a profound leader like Martin Luther King, Jr. or Malcolm X to guide us to achieve complete social justice and equality. There are also those who believe that it takes more than such a leader to bring us to this place. Have we become too comfortable? Have we given into the idea that we now live in a colorblind society where race no longer stands in the way of our progress?
