International Film Series - Free Screening - Night of the Hunter
Description:
The Night of the Hunter incredibly, the only film great actor Charles Laughton directed is truly a masterwork. A horror movie with qualities of a Grimm fairy tale, it stars a sublimely sinister Robert Mitchum as a traveling preacher named Harry, whose nefarious motives for marrying a fragile widow are uncovered by her terrified young children. See the film before the play A Child Shall Lead Them: Making the Night of the Hunter premieres at the Clarice Performing Arts Center on November 12. This event is sponsored by CSPAC and the Graduate Field Committee in Film Studies.
