Physics is Phun: "Light from Atoms"
Description:
See fluorescence, phosphorescence, the photoelectric effect, and a multitude of laser phenomena! Find out about atomic structure, atomic spectra, and other kinds of light emitted by atoms. Everyone who attends will get a piece of diffraction grating (to keep!) that can be used to analyze any source of light.
Dates: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Jan. 5, 6, 7.
Time: Doors open 7:00 PM for hands-on activities, Program 7:30-8:30 PM
Location: Physics Lecture Halls, University of Maryland, College Park, MD 20742
Cost: Free (no tickets required)
