Another Periodization of Latin American Literature: Processes of Change among the Twentieth Century Classics and the New Writings of the Twenty First Century
Description:
Dr. Josefina Ludmer will examine the categories of nation, fiction, representation and meaning comparing the literature of the twentieth century and new writings of the twenty-first century. The talk will highlight their differences and how the classics and the new literature address notions of fiction and territory.
Josefina Ludmer is a Yale University Emeritus Professor and renowned Latin American literary critic, essayist and scholar.
