Another Periodization of Latin American Literature: Processes of Change among the Twentieth Century Classics and the New Writings of the Twenty First Century

Dr. Josefina Ludmer will examine the categories of nation, fiction, representation and meaning comparing the literature of the twentieth century and new writings of the twenty-first century. The talk will highlight their differences and how the classics and the new literature address notions of fiction and territory. Josefina Ludmer is a Yale University Emeritus Professor and renowned Latin American literary critic, essayist and scholar. This event will be in Spanish. {Will appear in FYI on Feb 27, 2012
