Sustainable Development: The Making of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
Description:
The Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture will be hosting a lecture by John Charles Hopkins titled: Sustainable Development: The Making of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The London 2012 Olympic Park was the largest construction project in Europe. It will be the focus of the Games this summer and will the be at the heart of a new mixed-use community comprising up to 10,000 new homes.
John Charles Hopkins is a landscape architect, urban designer, and environmental planner, a Fellow of the Landscape Institute, a Churchill Fellow, and the author of Urban Space: Form, Funding and Function.
