"He said" / "She says": A Workshop on Effective Quotation
Description:
Including quotations in an academic essay can seem pretty simple - pick a sentence that sounds especially smart and go with it. Yet, writing a research-based, academic argument requires more than appropriate punctuation marks and citations. Students often struggle to weave the words of their sources into their own ideas, and finding this balance can seriously affect the development and persuasiveness of their overall argument.
Writing Center Assistant Director Adam Pellegrini hosts this informative session on the steps needed to successfully incorporate quotations in any effective academic argument.
