Egypt Revisited: Challenges and Changes One Year After Mubarak

This session of Development Circle, hosted by Dr. Sahar Khamis, will reflect on the most pressing contemporary changes in the social, political, and communication landscapes in post-revolutionary Egypt, their implications, and the main challenges they pose, one year after the January 25, 2011 revolution, which ended President Hosni Mubarak's 30-year rule. Sahar Khamis is Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is an expert on Arab and Muslim media and the former Head of the Mass Communication and Information Science Department in Qatar University. Dr. Khamis holds a Ph.D. in Mass Media and Cultural Studies from the University of Manchester in England. {Will appear in FYI on Mar 8, 2012
