American Society for Microbiology (Chapter at UMD) presents: Dr. Karen E. Nelson
Description:
Dr. Karen E. Nelson is the Director of the Rockville Campus of the JCVI. Since joining the JCVI legacy institutes, Dr. Nelson has led several genomic and metagenomic efforts. She has also been involved in the analysis of the microbiota of the human stomach and gastrointestinal tract.
Dr. Nelson will speak about her career and scientific research as well as offer guidance for students interested in pursuing microbiology-related careers.
