The One Project - An Epidemic of Homelessness
Description:
The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force calls LGBT youth homelessness an epidemic. Between 20-40% of homeless youth are LGBT identifying. There are specific mental health, substance abuse, sexual behavior, victimization, and juvenile justice concerns surrounding this population. LGBT Youth overall also have concerns such as acceptance, bullying.
Join our students who spent their Spring Break learning from and helping to create a better life for some of New York Citys LGBT youth on April 24th from 5:30 - 7:00pm in 2218 Marie Mount Hall as they share the information they learned and how you can get involved here in the Metro DC area.
