International Film Series - Free Screening - The Crime of Monsieur Lange

Please join the Graduate Field Committee in Film Studies for our latest film of the spring semester. This event is free and open to the public, and a short discussion with pizza will take place after the film. Jean Renoir's The Crime of Monsieur Lange 1936 / 80 minutes / French with English Subtitles / France Little known stateside but long esteemed in Europe, The Crime of Monsieur Lange is simply one of the very greatest films directed by Jean Renoir. René Lefèvre takes the title role of a nebbish who clerks for a penny-press publisher by day, and by night writes feverish potboilers about a Western hero named "Arizona Jim." The International Film Series is sponsored by the School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, the Graduate School, the College of Arts and Humanities, the Center for Literature and Comparative Studies, the Department of English, and the Institute for International Programs. {Will appear in FYI on Apr 17, 2012
