DC to Delhi: A Talk on the Politics of Street Theater by Anu Yadav

In 1989 acclaimed Indian playwright and activist Safdar Hashmi was killed while performing street theater with his well-known troupe, Jana Natya Manch, or 'Janam.' Since then, Janam organizes an annual festival commemorating his legacy with thousands in attendance. Local writer, performer and current MFA in Performance Candidate Anu Yadav will talk about Janam's work with this festival, as well as her own performance work in Delhi.
