Claudia Neuhauser, a Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs for the University of Minnesota, Rochester (UMR), is a biomathematician who has led the effort to develop new, interdisciplinary graduate and undergraduate curricula that span the life and computational sciences. In her presentation, Claudia will share her experience of building interdisciplinary academic programs at UMR in a rapidly changing environment where public education is under financial strain and pressure is mounting to become more efficient and effective. She will emphasize the opportunities and challenges, and how to transfer the model to established institutions.
