The Canary Effect (Movie on Native American History)

Please come out the first BMI movie night of the Fall semester September 19th at 7 PM in the Nyumburu Cultural Center. We will be featuring the powerful documentary, The Canary Effect. This event is free and open to ALL. The film takes an in depth look at the devastating effect that US policies have had on the indigenous people of America. This is an often untaught aspect of American history which makes this film even more. Immediately following the film we will have a talk-back session led by two prominent Native America leaders who reside in the DC Metro area. The Canary Effect follows the terrifying and horrific abuses instilled upon the Indigenous people of North America, and details the continued devastating practices of today. {Will appear in FYI on Sep 17, 2012
