The Use of Race in University Admissions Decisions: A Discussion of Fisher v. University of Texas at Austin

Dr. MarĂ­a C. Ledesma, Ph.D. earned a doctorate in education from UCLAs Graduate School of Education and Information Studies and served as the first Latina Student Regent for the University of California's Board of Regents. Dr. Ledesma's research interests focus on critical policy analysis, including critical higher education policy analysis and the analysis of race-conscious affirmative action policy in public selective institutions. Dr. Ledesma has been invited as a guest of the Supreme Court to listen to the oral arguments of the Fisher v. University of Texas case and will provide an overview of the case as well as the main points discussed during oral arguments.
