A Dybbuk Marathon
Description:
Come get possessed this Halloween! The Meyerhoff Center for Jewish Studies, The Gildenhorn Institute for Israel Studies, and The Embassy of Israel present A Dybbuk Marathon. The marathon will feature academic panels on the Dybbuk; student readings of selected scenes from S. An-sky's iconic play, "The Dybbuk", "Or Between Two Worlds"(1912-1914), in English and in Yiddish; a panel of artists fascinated with the Dybbuk; a presentation of a Yiddish opera "The Dybbuk"; a screening of Michal Waszynski's 1937 film adaptation of "The Dybbuk"; and at 7 PM in the Hoff Theater, a highly acclaimed puppet show!
