Pixar Animation Studios- From Car Paint to Kilt Plaid

Description:
How do we make fake things look like real things? Come discover how we ground the magic of computer animation in a believable world of materials and surfaces! Bob Moyer, a UM alumnus (Computer Graphics 2000, IVSP), was honored in 2009 with a Distinguished Alumni Award. At Pixar Animation Studios, Mr. Moyer has worked on such films as Cars, Ratatouille, Cars 2, and Up. This presentation is part of the Special Lecture Series for Undergraduate Students. Mr. Moyers presentation and the reception afterwards are sponsored by the Individual Studies Program, Honors College, and Department of Computer Science. {Will appear in FYI on Oct 24, 2012
