Description:
An exploration of the intersection of baroque poetry and queer theory trough the comparison of the poetics of Cuban neo-baroque poet José Lezama Lima and Argentinian queer activist and neo-baroque poet Néstor Perlongher. Ruben Rios Avila us Acting Director of the MFA in Creative Writing at NYU. He is the author of La raza cómica (2000) and Embocadura (2001). Rios Avila is Puerto Rico's premier comparatist and a major essayist. {Will appear in FYI on Nov 13, 2012
