Lecture: Ronit Matalon: Personal Matters: Cultural Boundaries East and West

Description:
Ronit Matalon is a bestselling writer and novelist in Israel. She was born in 1959 to a family of Egyptian-Jewish descent. She studied literature and philosophy at Tel Aviv University. Ms. Matalon has worked as a journalist for Israel television and for the daily Haaretz, covering Gaza and the West Bank during the First Intifada. At present, she is senior lecturer in Hebrew and comparative literature at Haifa University. Ms. Matalon has been awarded the prestigious Bernstein Prize (2009) for The Sounds of Our Steps. She is the author of the U.S. published novels Bliss and The One Facing Us. {Will appear in FYI on Dec 4, 2012
