Film Screening Event - Silent Classic 'Au Bonheur des Dames' with Live Music from Andrew Simpson
Description:
Julien Duvivier's adaption of Emile Zolas novel 'Au Bonheur des Dames' includes beautifully shot sequences of Gare Saint-Lazare train station, the streets of Paris, and the Galleries Lafayette department store.
This film will be accompanied by composer and pianist, Andrew Simpson. Simpson is ordinary professor of music at The Catholic University of America. Simpson is also the House Film Accompanist at the Library of Congress Mt. Pony Theater and the National Gallery of Art.
This event is free and open to the public and was organized by the Film Studies, with funding generously provided by the Pepsi Enhancement Fund.
