MAPP Kibel Gallery Talk: PUBLIC ART & PLACEMAKING | Monday, February 25, 2013 | Noon
Description:
What role can public art play in the creation of meaningful public spaces? How might developers, architects, planners, public artists and community members work together to enhance the public realm? What impact can public art master plans have on development? Using the exhibition Reston: The Art of Community and Arlington Countys Public Art Program as springboards, this round-table brings together public art administrators and curators to discuss these questions.
Join us in the Kibel Gallery at noon for a roundtable discussion featuring: Angela Adams of Arlington Economic Development; Anne Delaney, Initiative for Public Art Reston; Liesel Fenner, ASLA, from Americans for the Arts; and Mary Konsoulis, Urban Planner & Curator, Adjunct Faculty, UMD.
Don't miss the accompanying exhibition, "Reston: The Art of Community."
