International Film Series - Free Screening - Funeral Parade of Roses

Funeral Parade of Roses Toshio Matsumoto | 1969 | 105 min. | Japanese with English Subtitles Funeral Parade of Roses is a loose adaptation of Oedipus Rex set in the underground gay counterculture of 1960s Tokyo. Notable for its cinéma vérité interventions that blur the lines between actors and their characters and its "pop" predispositions, the film was later a major aesthetic influence on Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film A Clockwork Orange.
