World's Largest Earthquake Drill - Great ShakeOut

The University of Maryland (UMD) will join more than 20 million individuals for the Great Southeastern ShakeOut at 10:17 a.m. on October 17th! The ShakeOut is an earthquake drill that provides local communities, schools, businesses and organizations throughout the nation with an opportunity to practice how to stay safe during an earthquake and to practice the protective action of Drop, Cover and Hold On. On 10/17 at 10:17 a.m., UMD Alerts will announce the ShakeOut drill via UMD Alerts. At that time, the UMD community should Drop to the ground, take Cover under a sturdy object, and Hold On! {Will appear in FYI on Oct 9, 2013
