Queering the Body; Performing the Self

Description:
Kris Grey is a gender queer artist whose work combines strategies of communication, activism, community building, education, lecture, and studio production in mediums two dimensional, three dimensional, and time based. Join us Tuesday, November 19th, 6:30PM, Prince George's Room, STAMP for Queering the Body; Performing the Self. This performative lecture is about transitioning from object maker to body artist invested in exposing the permeability and constructed nature of the male/female binary. Disrupting one system of power through the lens of gender has wider implications for other binaries. The narrative of one artist connects across disciplines to larger communities of affinity built on common interests of social justice. {Will appear in FYI on Nov 5, 2013
