Wellness Tip of the Week: Take Some Quiet Time to Be Thankful

Time off from school and work around the Thanksgiving holiday gives us an opportunity to reflect on what we are grateful for in our lives. Find 10 minutes this week when you can be alone, turn off your cell phone, and think about what you are especially thankful for without competing distractions. It could be that you are thankful for the people who help you succeed in college or at work your parents, teachers, mentors; the little things that make you happy - your cup of coffee in the morning, your favorite song playing on the radio; or perhaps your health and that of your friends and family. Even just a few moments of intentionally practicing gratitude can impart a great sense of calm and well-being to carry you through the holiday season. {Will appear in FYI on Nov 27, 2013
