Farming Planet Earth: Strategies for Sustainable Intensification, Dr. Jerry Glover, USAID

Dr. Jerry Glover, a National Geographic Society Explorer, serves as the Senior Sustainable Agricultural Systems Adviser in the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Food Security in Washington, DC. Dr. Glover earned degrees in soil science (BS, 1997; PhD, 2001) and philosophy (BA, 1998) from Washington State University. He has published scientific articles on sustainable agriculture in the journals Nature, Science, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Scientific American. Dr. Glover's work on perennial cropping systems has been highlighted in National Geographic, Scientific American, and Nature, which recognized Dr. Glover as one of "five crop researchers who could change the world." {Will appear in FYI on Dec 4, 2013
