Wellness Tip of the Week: Stay Hydrated When Its Cold

Description:
Drinking plenty of water may not be on your mind in the colder months, but its just as important to stay hydrated in the winter as it is in the summer. A dehydrated body may be more susceptible to fatigue, colds and the flu. A tall glass of ice water isnt exactly appealing when its below freezing outside, but there are ways to make it easier to stay hydrated when its cold. Try drinking water at room temperature to avoid feeling chilled. Keep a bottle of water at your desk and take it to class to help you remember to drink water throughout the day. Eat plenty of fruits and veggies - many are made up of mostly water. An apple, for example, is made up of about 84 percent water. You could even add some fruit, like berries or citrus, to your water to make it taste better.
