Immigration in Film Series: KARATE KID

Join the Center for the History of the New America as we kick off our Immigration in Film Series for the spring semester with a screening of the 1984 original Karate Kid! Karate Kid has become a classic of 80s American film and a staple of so many American childhoods. But what if we explore Karate Kid with an immigration lens? Lawrence Minh-Bùi Davis and Mimi Khúc from Asian American Studies will lead a discussion and provide new perspectives on this classic film! Event is free and open to the public.
