Writers Here & Now Series: Devin Johnston and Laura van den Berg

The Writers Here & Now Series brings writers of national and international prominence to the University of Maryland, and this time we will be welcoming visiting writers Devin Johnston and Laura van den Berg. Join us for a reception at 6:15 pm in the Jimenez-Porter Writers' House, Dorchester Hall. Following the reception there will be readings by the visiting writers at 7:00 pm in Ulrich Recital Hall, Tawes Hall. Johnston is the author of several collections of poetry, including Sources (2008), a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, and Telepathy (2001). His prose writing includes the critical study Precipitations: Contemporary American Poetry as Occult Practice (2002). Laura van den Berg's first collection of stories, What the World Will Look Like When All the Water Leaves Us (Dzanc Books, 2009), was shortlisted for the Frank OConnor International Award. Her second collection of stories, The Isle of Youth, was published in November 2013. {Will appear in FYI on Feb 24, 2014
