Challenges to Doing Business in Emerging Markets: Political and Economic Barriers to Business in Southeast Asia

Description:
Although Southeast Asia contains enormous possibility for US and multinational firms, the 10 countries that make up the region offer a range of unique challenges to doing business in the region. Professor Catharin Dalpino  a Southeast Asia analyst with 30+ years of experience with the region  will outline business challenges in the region, giving special attention to Vietnam and Thailand. Dalpino is a former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy in the State Departments Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. She currently teaches on Southeast Asia at Johns Hopkins University-SAIS. {Will appear in FYI on Feb 20, 2014
