Why Care? Finding Inspiration in El Salvador

Get ready to travel to El Salvador through the stories of UMD study abroad alumni, discover the heritage of Latino/a immigrants in the U.S., & explore the implications for education and other fields. Leave with a newfound empathy for children struggling to get an education, and the inspiration to respond in your personal or professional life. A special array of Salvadoran food will be offered. Speakers include Missy Robbins (M.Ed. ’10, ESOL), Owen Andrews (B.A. ’09, Govt and Politics), Lea Ann Christenson (Towson University), Emily Dillon (B.A. ’12, English), To-Lam Nguyen (B.S. ’14, Pre-Med), Mairin Srygley (B.A. ’13, Music), Diana Liddi (B.S. ’14, Early Childhood Education), and Lizzie Hammett (B.S. ’14, Special Education)!
