Wellness Tip of the Week: Practice Poolside Safety

May is National Water Safety Month. You might be ready to dive into summer, but before you hit the pool, keep these important safety tips in mind. Be aware of your surroundings – how deep is the water? Where does it start increasing in depth? Take note if there are lifeguards on duty and if there is rescue equipment available. Know your swimming level, stay in areas where you feel most comfortable and always swim with a buddy. It’s also important to drink plenty of water, don’t drink alcohol and swim, and always wear sunscreen of 35 SPF or higher.
