Wellness Tip of the Week: Slather on the SPF!

The longer days and warmer weather encourage us to spend more time enjoying the outdoors. But UV rays from sun exposure can cause premature aging, cataracts, skin cancer, and of course – painful sunburn. Take steps to protect yourself from sun damage. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend using a sunscreen of at least SPF 15 whenever you plan to spend time outdoors. Avoid being in the sun in the middle of the day and, if that’s not possible, wear a hat, sunglasses, and other protective clothing. Make applying sunscreen part of your morning routine over the summer months. {Will appear in FYI on Jun 15, 2014
