UM School of Music - NOI Faculty Chamber Recital

Description:
Faculty artists of the National Orchestral Institute, representing the country's finest orchestras, ensembles and universities, join together in string, wind and mixed chamber ensembles to open the School of Music's 20th annual NOI. Performers include Violaine Melancon, violin; James Stern, violin; Katherine Murdock, viola; Michael Kannen, cello; Kenneth Slowik, cello; Chris Gekker, trumpet; Rita Sloan, piano; Mark Hill, oboe & Frank Morelli, bassoon in a program featuring Gerald Finzi's "Interlude for oboe and string quartet," David Snow's "A Baker's Tale for trumpet and piano," Maria von Weber's "Andante e Rondo ungarese Op.35," Carlos Chavez's "Soli 1 for oboe, clarinet, bassoon and trumpet" and Franz Schubert's String Quintet in C major, D. 956. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time; late-comers will be seated at appropriate breaks only. {Will appear in FYI on Jun 1, 2007
